Streamlining Reunion Communications

Events & Campaign Marketing

Event Branding, Event Collateral, Invitation Design, Website Design, Signage

Overview

With reunion season approaching the Alumni Relations team at Yale Law School was short-staffed and needed a better solution for supporting their volunteers. While college reunions are one part social event, their deeper purpose is in engaging alumni in fundraising. To be successful, Yale Law needed to reduce the repetitive work staff dealt with year-to-year and to provide more consistent, easily accessible content for their class chairs.

Creating a Solution that Lasts

Yale Law manages twelve classes of alumni at every reunion event. The alumni team wanted a web based platform to house and distribute communications. The structure and the need for secure login meant that building it within Yale’s main site would have been cumbersome.

We launched a separate microsite that hosts all the information class chairs need to fundraise and inspire attendance at Reunion. This includes sample scripts for donor calls, email templates, letterhead, schedule details and more.

A Brand Within a Brand

Critical to working with any existing brand is understanding how events and programs need to live within the hierarchy. We created a theme that was distinct for the event while being cohesive with the University’s visual identity. And because reunion only happens every five years it’s a look that can last.

We then developed invitations, reminders, programs, presentation templates, and signage to create comprehensive Reunion marketing.

“We really liked working with Iris — their team brings the whole package. Iris stayed on top of things and was very attentive in understanding our goals for the Reunion, while delivering outstanding design work. The team was extremely responsive and stayed cool as a cucumber when any issues arose.”
